General information: These are large short legged and robust bodied frogs. They make great beginner frogs and are fairly easy to take care of. The name pacman comes from there feeding habits. Pacman frogs will eat anything that they can fit in there mouth.

Housing/ lighting: Do to the fairly laid back behavior of this species, caging requirements are very simple. Pacman frogs do best when housed at temperature in the mid 80’s. They also will not climb glass, unlike most other species of frogs. We recommend housing them individually in tanks or Rubbermaid containers. A good example for an adult pacam would be a 10 gallon tank filled with peat moss, or large pebble, we do not recommend using gravel. This species has a veracious appetite and has a tendency to ingest items when feeding. Using gravel will run the risk of a foreign body obstruction, which can lead to death. Also make sure to provide a large shallow water dish, for the frog to soak. The water should be dechlorinated or bottled drinking water. Any decoration placed in the enclosure should be smooth ( to prevent tearing of the skin).

Feeding: Crickets, worms, lizards, frogs, small rodents, fish, birds… Literally anything thing that will fit in their mouth. Younger frogs should be fed appropriate sized prey items twice a week. Large frogs should be fed once a week.
